Further activity at Havillands.
John's patience is getting frayed by Avril, she is such a grasshopper when it comes to what's best for Suki, she hops from one thing to another rapidly! Suki is confused by it all.
Miss King checks up on Coral and her unborn foal. Everything is going well which is a relief to Jenny.
John takes Sabra the Arab to the forge to have new shoes. The Hobbitty looking chap kneeling down is the local farrier Mr Flint. He runs Flint Forge where the Havillands crew take all their horses for shoeing and trimming. John likes to do this job as he knows a lot about farriery as his Dad and two older brothers are Blacksmiths themselves. He feels at home in a forge and Flint lets John bash bits of metal around if the place is quiet. He made some nice twisted iron candle sticks last time he visited.
Gareth andAndrew exercising Meredith and Frosty. Andrew, who is used to going everywhere at a racing gallop, can't understand the idea that section D Meredith can trot as fast as Frosty can canter. He wonders how Gareth manages to sit that racking trot sometimes!

I love the super-speedy cob trot! The knack to sitting it is to not-quite-sit, but hold enough weight through your stirrups to hover your seat bones just enough off the saddle that you don't feel it. Also works when you get put on 11.2-ish ponies and physically can't rise quick enough to keep time when they get up to full speed
